Airmadillo is the first foldable, inflatable aerial drone that is used to call for help, when one is in an emergency situation. The feature that distinguishes Airmadillo from other drones, is that it can be folded with a protective tube around it, to consume the least possible space and hence can be easily carried by nearly everyone. Airmadillo has an onboard cell signal amplifier which enables the person in need to contact anyone in search for help.
This projetct was done in collaboration with Aaron Lehr  and Charles Saidel.
This project involved lots of prototyping starting from having two sheets of plastic and drawing the shape on them then ironing the edges to fill them with air, to 3D printing some parts of the drone and reassembling it.
